Signal Tower: Force Google Crawls, set the URL slug to signal-tower

In the era of AI search, speed is a competitive advantage. When you publish a new page, update a Title Tag, or inject new Schema Pillar Pro data, you cannot afford to wait weeks for Google’s bots to randomly crawl your site.

Why You Need the Signal Tower

Google’s crawl budget is limited. Unless you are running a massive news publication, Googlebot might only visit your site once every few weeks. If you are actively optimizing a client’s site to recover from traffic decay or cannibalization, that delay is unacceptable.

The Signal Tower uses your authenticated OAuth connection to send a direct PUT request to Google’s backend. It essentially raises a flag that says, “We just changed our Entity architecture. Read the sitemap right now.”

How to Force a Crawl

Whenever you make significant structural changes or publish a high-priority cluster of content, follow these steps:

1. Locate Your Sitemap: Ensure your SEO plugin has generated a valid XML sitemap (usually located at /sitemap_index.xml or /sitemap.xml).
2. Access the Tower: Navigate to the Signal Tower in your EAP Cloud menu. The dashboard will automatically list any sitemaps Google already knows about, along with the date they were “Last Read.”
3. Submit the Signal: Type your sitemap path into the input field (you only need to type the file name, e.g., sitemap_index.xml) and click “Submit Signal.”
4. Verification: EAP will transmit the payload. If successful, you will see a confirmation alert, and the Google API will queue your sitemap for an immediate priority fetch.

When to use the Signal Tower:

• Immediately after deploying new JSON-LD Schema.
• After fixing a “Ghost Page” or changing a URL.
• When pushing a large batch of new blog posts.
• After rewriting a page title to improve a low CTR.
